6 Week Thursday Morning Pottery with Imogen Richards – November

With demand at a peak for pottery courses we are delighted that that Imogen Richards will teach on Thursday Mornings at Sundragon Community Pottery!

Imogen Richards is an Artist/Maker based in Birmingham.

Imogen’s visual language developed through her painting education at Edinburgh College of Art, and Masters Degree in Ceramics at Staffordshire University, Stoke on Trent. She aspires to create romantic, abstract and functional work, experimenting with intuitive paintings on and with clay. Her playful and energetic compositions, marks and palette are dictated by the form and texture of each thrown and altered piece.

Imogen draws inspiration from the theatricality and comfort of nature, and surrealist animation, resulting in other-worldly scenes which balance on the edge of reality.

This Sunday Afternoon pottery class offers you the opportunity to come along to our beautiful Moseley School of Art Studios, and have a play with clay.

Your class will take place in the building above. The Moseley School of Art.

Whether you are brand new to clay, or just want to develop your skills, then you are welcome in this class.

If you want to hand build for the first time, maybe have a first go at throwing on the wheel, or just sharpen your skills in any pottery technique, then this general pottery class is for you.

Bring your ideas and imagination, and we will endeavour to realise your creative dreams with youi.

In this class you will cover many aspects of hand building and some wheel work.

You will cover various surface decoration techniques, including using coloured slips and glazes.

During this course, students will also learn “good studio practice”.

This six week course starts on  Thursday 5th November 2026, and will take place every Sunday afternoon from 10.00 pm – 12.30pm, on the following dates:
